Laura Downing-Lee has been teaching and directing at SRJC since 1999. Prior to that, she was the Performance Specialist for the Theatre Department at the University of Central Missouri for five years. A director, actor, playwright, and dramaturge, Laura has worked for respected theatres including Seattle Children's Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, and Kansas City’s Coterie Theatre. Certified in six forms of stage combat with Society of American Fight Directors, she is now an Associate Instructor for Dueling Arts International and occasionally choreographs fights for area productions. An SRT alumna, she performed in the acting company in 1989 and 2000, and is delighted to make this beautiful place her home.
