Instructions for YouTube Video Submissions

YouTube Video Submissions

After completing your video audition recording, you will need to post the audition on YouTube in the following manner and send an unlisted link to the appropriate director per the instructions below.

YouTube is owned by Google, and authenticated access to YouTube is available by logging in with your Google account credentials:

  • Go to https://www.youtube.com/
  • Click on the Sign In button on the top right, and use your Google login credentials

Once you are logged in to YouTube:

  • Click on the camera icon with the plus sign button located on the top right
  • If you recorded the video from an external source and have the video file, you can select Upload Videos from the Create pop-up menu

Setting up access to view your video:

  • Go to Your Videos
  • Click on Uploads
  • Select the preferred clip by checking the box to the left of the video, then click the Edit button
  • Change the Title of the video to:
    • Example 1: SRJC Audition-[play/musical name here]: [your name here]
    • Example 2: SRJC Audition-[play/musical name here]: [your name here]
  • Click the Save Changes button
  • Scroll down to Visibility

Send a link to your video to SRJC Theatre Arts:

  • Select “Unlisted”
  • COPY and PASTE the FULL link to the video into the body of an email addressed to srjctheatrearts@santarosa.edu (the link should be quite long)
  • Please test the link before you send it. To test it, you can log out of YouTube and send the link to a second email address you may have or to a family member.
